I haven't posted anything here for a while because for the past few days I've been concentrating on a bit of a site redesign and adding a lot of new funny pages to The Duke's Jokes & Stuff. My Funny Pages now contains stuff about Star Trek, Star Wars, comical poems and funny stories as well as some funny lists that The Duke hopes you enjoy.

The Aliens Are Coming

Stuff that annoys The Duke
People who point at their wrist while asking for the time.
I know where my watch is, where the hell is yours?
Do I point at my crotch when I ask where the bathroom is?

People who are willing to get off their butt to search the entire room for the TV remote because they refuse to walk to the TV and change the channel manually.

When people say "It's always in the last place you look".
Of course it is.
Why the hell would you keep looking after you've found it?
Do people do this?
Who and where are they?

When something is "new and improved"
Which is it?
If it's new, then there has never been anything before it.
If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it.

When people say "Life is short."
Life is the longest damn thing anyone ever does!
Are they going to do something that's longer?

People that say "Can I ask you a question?"
You didn't really give me a choice there, did you?

Michael Jackson & Justin Timberlake

I've just realised that Justin Timberlake is the new-white Mikey Jackson... I know that probably sounds unintelligable considering that Jacko is white now.

The point The Duke is trying to convey is that back in the 80's all the ladies loved Michael Jackson because he was one helluva dancer and also could sing in that high tone and still make it sound cool and everyone knows that singers get all the pussy-look at Mick Jagger (Rolling Stones), doesn't look good but can sing and gets pussy, same about Lemmy (Motorhead) ugly bloke and The Duke salutes him because he inevitably had a plethora of groupies (that means he got laid a lot)..... But Jacko wasn't ugly like all the rest of the singers and this meant that more ladies than ever took a liking to him causing part of the male population wanting to be more alike the said singer.

So Mr. Jackson had, by then, gotten the female population liking him and the male population were getting into his beats and groves in the music as well. So with the ladies loving him and the dudes digging him, he became a success, not unalike the way that Justin Timberlake is growing.

The Duke means that the same way people took a liking to Jacko back in the 80's (up until he done the album Bad, after that he was only mediocre) the same people and the younger generation are taking to Timbo (name made up for this Blog, if it takes off just remember you read it hear first)

It seems that to be like them you just need to:
*Be good looking
*Have a proper singing range of notes
*Be good at dance routines and know how to move your body with rhythm
*Be in a boy-band like The Jackson 5 or N'Sync
*Leave it first and go solo
*Do something controversial, like date somebody linked with super-fame (like Elvis' daughter or Ms. Spears, the household name)

So if it is really that simple, how come more super-star-singers haven't popped up yet? Let me know...

I haven't posted much here for a few days, mainly because I've been playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 online - 8 player games of graffiti :-)

I'm off to start getting ready for work. I've been there for over a year and a half and I still enjoy it- who else has a job like that? Get in touch with me.

I just have to say how much I love Weezer's song Only In Dreams... It's one of those songs that as soon as finished I want to hear it again.

I like Weezer a hell of a lot more now than I used to when their song Buddy Holly was on TV all the time - I love that song too.

Ahhhhhh. Glorious Thursday-my weekly day off from work.

First I think I'll have something to eat then maybe see what's on TV, I'll most likely end up playing on my PC for a bit before deciding to get ready to go and pay my rent and stuff like that.

Well I'm gonna go on a food hunt, I'll probably post again here later on this afternoon or this evening

OK. One thing that has been on my mind for the last few days is the fact that me and my mate both fancy the same woman. This isn't the first time I've been hit with this situation either.

The first time this happened was when I was in my teenage years at high-school, her name was Emma and I liked her more than anyone, but didn't think that she would want to go out with me so, although we were friends, never took it any further. Months later, one of my fellow school-companions told me that he fancied her, not knowing that I did too. So, my comrades at school informed me that what I should do, being friends with both of them, was to try and get them together. So with my secret admiration being kept just that, secret, I mentioned to Emma that he fancied her and they pretty much got together themselves from there-I just helped the relationship blossom, if you will pardon that crappy saying.

That was when the hurting began, I thought I would have been all right with it. I didn't let this come in the way of friendship with any of us but it was difficult seeing them together. I stayed friends with them both until the end of our years of schooling and then drifted apart as friends do.

And now, as the years have moved on, I find myself yet again in a situation like the one above...

If you want the facts on the current situation then continue reading, but if you don't you could just scroll down...

I met a woman and in the few hours we were together I developed a strong likeness for her, but once again my shyness over rules and I can never say the things I want. And now I find myself here once again with:
*A girl I like
*Feelings, untold
*A mate who has told me that he likes her too.

All I can do is keep this as secret as it can be (considering where this message is) and make sure not to lose a friend that I've got over a girl that I've just recently met. But history has tought me that by standing back and letting others get on with their lives can mean not having to lose friends.

Well folks, until the next the next time I feel like splurging my thoughts out I shall send you my regards.........

Duke
